The New York State Canal Corporation recently unveiled the New York State Canalway Water Trail, a coordinated trail with boat launches, landings and campsites along the 524-mile New York State Canal System. There are more than 100 launch and landing sites currently available to both motorized and non-motorized boaters along the Canal System that are now listed on the new interactive map on the Canal Corporation’s website, www.canals.ny.gov. With your cursor 
positioned inside the map’s boundaries, control the scale of the map with your scroll wheel. To return to the original scale & location, click on the map title. Pan the map by clicking and dragging. Click & drag the map’s scroll bar to view listings below the map (except for the home page).
Reveal the attraction’s name by positioning your cursor over the map marker. Single click it to view the attraction’s details & website link. Double click on a marker to open the Google Maps “Get Directions” utility in a new browser window.
Zoom in on a cluster of markers by clicking on the Cluster icon.
Narrow your search by clicking on a “Group” name in the key at the bottom of the map or use the search function. Click on the map’s title to refresh and display all listings.
View Orleans County in MAP, TERRAIN or SATELLITE mode by clicking on the drop down menu in the upper right hand corner of the map and selecting the desired mode.
Want to see a street view? Click on the “Person” icon (upper left corner of map) and drag to your desired location. To return to the map, simply click on the “x” in the upper right hand corner.
