The only tunnel allowing motorists to drive under the Erie Canal. The flash of silver welcoming visitors by boat or by land is the dome of the 1858 County Courthouse. A true port village, Albion was the site of sandstone quarrying and fruit export on the canal, bringing prosperity to the area. Today, Canalside Park offers boat docking facilities and a landscaped park for watching the lift bridge operations. Amenities include water, electric service and comfort station with showers.

Glenwood Lake was formed by damming Oak Orchard River. The river flows north, passing under the Erie Canal then tumbles down a waterfall (Medina Falls) before slowing its course in Glenwood Lake. Paddle south from the launch site to see Medina Falls. The dam is at the northern end, near the launch adjacent to Boxwood Cemetary on North Gravel Road, Medina.

Oak Orchard Harbor offers a pleasant destination for day launch for the cruising sailor, powerboater or sea kayaker. The tree-lined gorge, carved by the Oak Orchard River, provides a scenic backdrop for a full service port featuring a professional charter fleet, sailing clubs, parks, marine sales and repairs, gasoline, pump out stations, lodging and restaurants. The harbor is protected by two parallel jetties and a breakwall at the mouth of the river. Dredged channel depth is about 8 feet and varies upstream to about 18 feet.
