Welcome to the new & improved Orleans County Tourism web site! We are pleased to present some significant changes to make your visit more entertaining and informative.

The most important feature is our database format. Our listings are now in a searchable database which will help you find the specific business, activity or service you desire. Whether you need a fishing charter, locate a romantic picnic spot or restaurant, you will be sure to find it easily on any of our categorized pages. You can sort our listings alphabetically by business name or by type. You can also narrow your search by filtering the “Type” such as Fishing Charters, Fishing Derbies or Fishing Bait & Tackle.

We invite our local businesses to click on the “Submit Listing” link at the bottom of our pages to update or add their listing. Our staff will be happy to make those changes to the database once received.

Another really cool feature is our LOCATE IT! interactive map. If you are at all familiar with the current Orleans County Travel Guide, you will recognize from the centerfold: a whimsical “layout of the land” designed by local artist Ben Northern. We are now featuring the “LOCATE IT!” map on our web site using the wizardry of Flash - a fun tool for visitors of all ages to locate various attractions throughout Orleans County. You can also learn some interesting fun facts when you click on specific icons.

For returning visitors, you will notice we created a new page from the “Markets & Shops” page, aptly named “HOME GROWING“. The Home Growing page features our local Farm Markets and Wineries, while the Shops & Studios page lists specialty shops, antique shops and art studios to find that special one-of-a-kind gift or souvenier.

Visit our updated “SERVICES & ASSOCIATES” page if you are looking for transportation, pet boarding or any organization that relates to you visiting our region. Our History & Culture page now includes a list of libraries which all have public internet access.

We don’t want to give away all of our surprises so, by all means, browse ’til your heart’s content and who knows, you might learn something really cool about a really charming place called Orleans County!
